About the role

This role is locally based in Cloncurry at our Ernest Henry Operations and will report to the General Manager.

The Underground Mine Manager will be required to work closely with the integrated planning manager and other site leaders and will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Underground mining functions for the operation.  Some of the key result areas include:

  • Safety Leadership
  • Underground mine manager statutory responsibility
  • Mine production, development, short term planning and scheduling
  • Capital project delivery
  • Capital and operating cost management
  • Contractor and contract management
  • Business Improvement initiatives.

About you

A successful leader in this position will have a Queensland First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency. It is also important that you have or can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in Underground metalliferous mines and previous underground Mine Manager experience.
  • Experience in Mass mining techniques will be an advantage but is not a prerequisite.
  • People and development focused mindset.
  • A very high standard of Health & Safety in the workplace.
  • Current C Class drivers’ licence.
