Apprentice Auto Electrician
.
Who we are
We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.
Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.
When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.
What’s the opportunity?
As an Apprentice Auto Electrician, you'll undertake a structured apprenticeship program while learning your trade in a modern underground mining environment.
Working alongside qualified Auto Electricians, you'll gain hands-on experience maintaining and repairing a large fleet of underground mining equipment while completing your trade qualification through TAFE.
Throughout your apprenticeship you will learn to:
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults on heavy mining equipment
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and electrical schematics
- Install, maintain and repair vehicle electrical systems
- Use specialised diagnostic tools and software
- Service lighting, communication, monitoring and control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspections
- Develop strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Work safely within a large-scale underground mining operation
- Maintain high housekeeping, safety and quality standards
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining's values
This is an entry-level opportunity designed for people who are passionate about learning, enjoy working with their hands and are looking to build a long-term career in the mining industry.

With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.
This position is based on a 7 day on, 7 day off dayshift only roster, and is residential to Kalgoorlie.
