Apprentice Boilermaker

.

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

As an Apprentice Boilermaker (Fabricator), you'll undertake a structured apprenticeship program while learning your trade in a modern mining environment. Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you'll gain hands-on experience while completing practical and theoretical training leading to a nationally recognised Boilermaker qualification.

Working alongside experienced tradespeople, you'll assist with the maintenance, repair and fabrication of fixed plant and mobile equipment while developing valuable technical and problem-solving skills.

Throughout your apprenticeship you will learn to:

  • Assist with inspections, servicing and repairs of plant equipment
  • Develop fabrication, welding and maintenance skills
  • Support preventative maintenance and repair activities
  • Complete assigned work and maintenance documentation
  • Maintain apprenticeship logbooks and training requirements
  • Attend and successfully complete all off-site training and TAFE requirements
  • Work safely within a mining and processing plant environment
  • Develop strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain high housekeeping, safety and environmental standards
  • Identify and report hazards and support a strong safety culture
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining's values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability and Respect

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for people who enjoy working with their hands, have an interest in fabrication and mechanical maintenance, and want to build a long-term career in the mining industry.

With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

This position is based on a 7 day on, 7 day off dayshift only roster, and is residential to Kalgoorlie.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
