This roster is 7:7 and a 12 hour day. Residential Kalgoorlie or FIFO from Perth.
About the role
We’re chasing a hands-on, switched-on Leading Hand Underground Fitter to join our maintenance team. You’ll be the go-to on shift, making sure our underground mobile gear runs safely, smoothly, and efficiently. You’ll work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and Planner to keep downtime low and performance high.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Leading the crew of 11 Fitters, Auto Sparkies, Drill Fitter and Apprentices and allocating tasks based on the daily plan
- Coaching and mentoring trades to get the best out of the gear
- Completing and checking work orders and paperwork
- Attending shift handovers and SOS meetings
- Supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis
- Keeping safety front and centre – always
About you
You’re a trade-qualified fitter with solid underground experience and a knack for leading a crew wether you have been in this role previously or stepped up in this role. You know your way around mobile plant maintenance and can keep things moving under pressure.
- At least 5 years’ experience in mobile plant maintenance in underground mining
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- A safety-first mindset and ability to mentor others
- Confidence with planning, scheduling, and prioritising work
