Light Vehicle Fitter

.

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

We’re investing in the reliability and performance of our underground fleet at Mungari, creating an opportunity for a mechanically minded Light Vehicle Fitter to join a team that keeps our operation moving. With a large and diverse fleet of underground and road-going light vehicles, this role offers hands-on variety, autonomy and the chance to work alongside experienced tradespeople in a safety-focused environment. If you enjoy diagnosing problems, finding practical solutions and take pride in quality workmanship, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding career with a growing operation.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Light Vehicle Supervisor, you’ll:

  • Keep the operation moving by maintaining and repairing a fleet of more than 100 light vehicles used across both underground and surface operations.
  • Diagnose faults and deliver quality repairs that maximise fleet reliability, minimise downtime and support safe production outcomes.
  • Take ownership of preventative maintenance activities to ensure vehicles are operating at peak performance and meet site standards.
  • Contribute to a strong safety culture by actively participating in hazard identification, risk management and site safety initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance, maintenance practices and workshop efficiency.
  • Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are available, reliable and ready to support business needs.

This position operates on a 7:7 roster, working 12-hour days, and is available on either a residential Kalgoorlie or FIFO from Perth basis.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

What suits your lifestyle best? We offer drive-in, drive-out (DIDO) and fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rosters at Mungari. You choose. Live local in the world-class mining community and enjoy our competitive live-local incentives and allowances. Or choose FIFO and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits that village life offers.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.

We support, develop and reward you to ensure you have a bright future. Here’s how we back that up:

  • Quarterly performance bonuses

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical or equivalent trade qualification
  • Valid Manual Drivers licence
  • Experience with Toyota fleet
  • Dangerous Goods Security Clearance
  • Experience maintaining underground light vehicles is desirable.
