Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.

 

Earlier this year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari’s mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning.

 

About the role

The Underground Mobile Maintenance Manager is responsible for building and implementing the strategy and leading a team of technical maintenance professionals, ensuring correct planning, guidance, capabilities, and resources to deliver to agreed budgets to achieve regulatory requirements, safety and availability targets.  

 

It is a critical role accountable for developing and delivering maintenance planning, and fit for purpose solutions, driving efficiencies, and improving equipment availability and reliability.  The role will have autonomy and an ability to influence at a strategic and operational level. It has high levels of engagement with the Mungari Leadership Team as well as the maintenance community across the business.

 

Key result areas in this position include:

 

  • Proactively promote a ‘One Evolution’ and ‘One Mungari’ approach, driving ownership, continuous improvement, and optimisation across all underground asset management practices.
  • Ensuring the Underground Maintenance team achieves workplace health, safety and environmental KPI’s alongside ensuring equipment availability and reliability in compliance with all procedures and policies.
  • Build an engaged accountable team with your Superintendents, encouraging development opportunities, cross-training, upskilling and ongoing mentoring of employees.    
  • Make data driven decisions to provide guidance to ensure delivery to plan for both Life of Mine Plan (LOMP) and the underground mobile maintenance budget.
  • Demonstrate and model a high-performance team culture aligned to our values (Safety, Excellence, Accountability, Respect) and EVP (Bold team, Bright Future), with all activities designed to drive greater levels of engagement, productivity, efficiency, and effectiveness.

 

About you

You will hold relevant tertiary and/or trade qualifications, and/or commensurate experience, leading a team managing a similar operation and be able to demonstrate the below:

 

  • Proven successes leading maintenance operations in mid /large sized dynamic mining operations with a proven ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks and monitor progress in a high-pressure environment. Underground, hard rock experience is essential.
  • Strong track record of successfully delivering programs of work, integrations, standardisation, and simplification projects, introducing process efficiencies/automation for routine tasks, and optimising emerging technology.
  • Well-developed analytical and critical thinking skills combined with the ability to formulate and implement commercially focused strategic business plans then executing to KPI’s to support achieving safe, production targets.
  • Natural affinity and competency in stakeholder engagement, including establishing and maintaining effective relationships internally at all levels, with an engaging style and curiosity.
  • A skilled communicator able to clearly articulate and influence with strong analytical, detail orientated and problem- solving skills that work both at a strategic and operational level.
  • Proactive, collaborative, people-focussed leader with an innovative, problem-solving approach with a focus on excellence, continuous improvement and delivering outcomes through influence.
