About the role

 

The Mine Engineer Planning reports to the Superintendent Mining Engineer and handles underground mine design, level plans, and short to midterm scheduling.

 

This role is key in overseeing all short to midterm mine planning, factoring in financial, geotechnical, geological, mining methods, and resource considerations

 

Displaying a positive attitude and increasing safety awareness is essential whilst setting an example for others.  Responsibilities include:

  • Short-term planning – Monthly/Quarterly schedule.
  • Long term scheduling – Assist development life-of-mine and budget/forecast schedules.
  • Monitoring and Support – Analysis of plan compliance, efficiencies and identify opportunities for optimisation.
  • Cost management – Monitor underground costs and ensure designs maximise value.
  • Identify hazards and risks at early stages and eliminate or engineer controls at the design level.

 

The position will only be offered residentially or FIFO from Perth working an 8:6 (12-hour day) roster, Thursday to Thursday

 

 

About you

 

You will enjoy developing relationships with your peers and leaders, working in a collaborative team environment, where we are open to feedback and respect other’s opinions.

 

You will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years underground mine engineering experience (design, planning, scheduling, and D&B)
  • Proven experience identifying, understanding, and solving complex problems.
  • Experience with mine design software, ideally Deswik and Aegis.
