About the role
As the Mining and Ore Haulage Contracts Superintendent you will provide your expertise and support to stakeholders for all contract and contractor management activities. The role oversees the full procure to pay cycle, supply chain, vendor relationship management, contract management, governance, and administration.

 

Reporting to the Manager of Surface Mining and Operational Readiness you will hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment, and act in their absence when required.  Being a team player is nonnegotiable, so you will be well supported by both the Commercial and Processing Managers. A typical swing will see you carrying out the below activities: 

  • Full accountability of reviewing and assessing contracts, agreements, and amendments to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Analyse contract claims and cost submissions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with contractual agreements.
  • Conduct regular contract performance reviews and provide feedback to contractors, recommending improvements or corrective actions as necessary.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports on contract performance, commercial advice, and claims resolution to support the contract owners and operational departments.
  • Maintain contracts register and ensure claims, variations, disputes, and general commercial correspondence is accurate and complete.

This position is a residential role, requiring the incumbent to live permanently within the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region working a 10-hour day on a 5:2:4:3 roster.  Relocation support will be provided for candidates willing to relocate within Australia only.

 

About you
You will be an individual who prides yourself on displaying excellence, taking accountability, and always making safety your priority.  To be the successful applicant you will be able to demonstrate the below;

  • Working understanding and knowledge of commercial agreements used in the mining and metals sector in Australia.
  • Previous technical mining operations or logistics experience
  • Strong understanding of open pit mining practices, contract law, and cost management principles
  • Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (will be highly regarded).
  •  Ability to engage with and manage the expectations of a diverse range of stakeholders with different (and often competing) priorities
  • Experience in contract development, including contracting model selection, development, and implementation, with a focus on open pit operations
  • Experience administering commercial relationships in accordance with contractual obligations
  • Solid and proven experience in negotiation and closing out of commercial claims, including variations, extension of time and disputes
  • Team focused, collaboration skills, prepared to listen and give feedback
  • Strong attention to detail when writing and undertaking calculations, and report writing
  • Ability to effectively communicate difficult decisions and to negotiate outcomes in the interest of Evolution Mining
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values
