About the role 

Reporting to the Senior Advisor Emergency Services, the Emergency Service & Security Officer plays an integral role in supporting the Mungari Operations, providing site access and emergency medical assistance when required.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Ensure emergency preparedness by;
  • Prepare, test and maintain emergency response equipment in accordance with OEM and organisational requirements
  • Test and maintain emergency management processes and systems in accordance with organisational & legislative obligations
  • Support business partners in recruiting of emergency response team members from their respective work groups
  • Train and mentor emergency response team members
  • Provide leadership and guidance during response to emergencies
• Provide first aid and medical care by;
  • Administer and maintain the site Poison Permit
  • Provide pre-hospital care to ill or injured workers
  • Maintain site medical facilities and equipment in accordance with organisational, legislative, and poison permit obligations
• Maintain site access & security processes and systems by;
  • Monitor and report on security systems and activities
  • Carry out security activities in accordance with the site Security Licence
  • Assist in administration of the site access process
• Assist the site in monitoring fitness for work by;
  • Conduct testing for alcohol and other drugs
  • Prepare and dispatch FFW samples for laboratory analysis
  • Report and escalate FFW test results.

About you

To be successful in this role, it is essential you will reside in Kalgoorlie and have had previous experience in an emergency response capacity within a mining or processing plant environment.

You will enjoy working in a team environment and have a strong focus on safety, promoting a ‘Safety First' culture, and be confident to challenge those who show unsafe behaviours.

Evidence of the following qualifications and experience are required;

• Certificate IV in Health Care (Ambulance), or equivalent / higher (preferred)
• Certificate II Security Operations or equivalent / higher
• Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue
• Minimum of C class driver’s license (HR preferable but not essential)
• HLTPAT005 Collect Specimens For Drugs Of Abuse Testing
