About the role
Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in mining operations? As our Officer Risk and Improvement, you will support the implementation and ongoing management of risk and compliance processes across open-cut, underground and ore processing operations at Mungari. Working closely with site leaders and subject matter experts, you will contribute to the effective application of critical risk controls and support continuous improvement in safety and sustainability outcomes.
This role offers hands-on exposure to operational risk management in a complex mining environment, providing a strong foundation to develop your technical capability while being supported by experienced practitioners.

You will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and safety focused on the following priorities.
- Supporting Risk Frameworks: Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of the site risk framework in alignment with Evolution standards and legislative requirements.
- Risk Management Support: Contributing to scheduled reviews, updates and documentation of Material and Critical Risk Management Plans as part of broader risk management programs.
- Advisory Assistance: Providing practical support to leaders and teams on safety and risk systems under guidance from senior advisors and managers.
- Management of Change Support: Assisting in the coordination and application of Management of Change processes across site activities.
About you
You are an early-career Risk or Sustainability professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams and is keen to build practical experience in a site-based mining environment. You communicate clearly, engage well with others, and are comfortable supporting supervisors and leaders to apply safety and risk processes in day-to-day operations.
You bring a collaborative mindset, a willingness to learn, and an interest in understanding how risk management and critical controls are applied in practice. With guidance from more experienced practitioners, you are developing your ability to provide sound advice, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and support a positive safety culture across the operation.
You are organised, adaptable, and motivated by seeing plans translated into practical outcomes in a fast-paced operational setting.
Can you tick the following criteria?
- 1–3 years’ experience in risk, compliance or sustainability roles, or a strong early-career foundation in a related field
- Exposure to mine site operations (operational experience desirable, not essential)
- Tertiary qualification in Sustainability, Risk Management or a related discipline (desirable)
- Additional training or coursework in Risk Management, Change Management or adult learning (desirable)
- Experience using INX or similar safety management systems (desirable), with solid capability in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Exposure to incident investigations (e.g. ICAM or similar methodologies) and internal audits (desirable)
- A proactive and curious mindset, with the ability to learn, take guidance and progressively build advisory capability
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage constructively with supervisors, superintendents and support teams
