Operator Metallurgy Laboratory
About the Role
Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, this is a hands-on, lab-based role supporting processing plant performance.
The role involves maintaining lab equipment, completing sampling and test work, and making sure data is accurate and reliable to support plant outcomes.
It works closely with the processing team, with a mix of guidance and autonomy in managing day-to-day tasks.
There’s also a focus on keeping the lab organised and running smoothly, including equipment reliability and timely data delivery in line with team KPIs. It’s a great opportunity to gain exposure to site operations and build practical mining experience.
This role is offered on a 5:2:4:3 roster (10-hour days) and is open to candidates living in the Kalgoorlie/Boulder region.
About You
You enjoy hands-on work and take pride in doing it well. You’re reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
You bring experience from a laboratory or metallurgical environment and are keen to build on it in a site-based role. Most importantly, you have a positive attitude, a strong focus on safety, and a willingness to learn.
Can you tick the below?
- Proven laboratory experience, ideally within a metallurgical or gold processing environment
- Experience with plant sampling and/or supporting metallurgical test work
- Confidence using Excel to capture, track and interpret data
- Ability to take ownership of your tasks and work autonomously
- A strong safety mindset and pride in keeping a clean, well-organised lab
- A desire to keep learning and build your capability on site
- Exposure to systems such as Pronto (or similar) for ordering and inventory support
