About the role
As a key member of our Underground Paste Crew, you’ll play a critical role in keeping the mine running safely and efficiently below ground. Reporting to the Paste Supervisor, this is a hands-on operational role where your experience and judgement directly support ground stability, production schedules and safe mining outcomes.
You’ll be trusted to own your area, work autonomously underground and contribute to smooth, reliable paste fill delivery in a high-performing team environment.
In this role, you will:
- Operate, monitor and maintain paste fill systems and reticulation underground
- Complete pre- and post-paste inspections to ensure system integrity and safe outcomes
- Actively manage consumables and identify opportunities to minimise downtime
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, report defects and support proactive maintenance
- Work to high safety and environmental standards, every shift
You’ll also set the benchmark for safety underground — identifying hazards early, intervening when required and leading by example in how the job gets done.
This role operates on a 7:7 roster with 12-hour shifts, residential Kalgoorlie or FIFO from Perth.
About you
You’re a capable underground operator who knows the importance of doing the job right the first time. You’re safety-driven, mechanically minded and comfortable taking responsibility for critical infrastructure underground. You work well in tight-knit crews and communicate clearly with supervisors and peers.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Minimum 12 months’ underground mining experience, ideally in projects or paste operations
- A current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Working at Heights certification
- Strong mechanical aptitude, fault-finding ability and practical problem-solving skills
