At Mungari, we have boldly reimagined our future. By expanding our processing plant, we have more than doubled our processing capacity from 2 million tonnes to 4.2 million tonnes per annum. This position can be either FIFO from Perth or residential, relocation support within Australia is provided. The roster is a continuous 8:6 (12-hour day).
About the Role
We are seeking a Surveyor to join our team at the Mungari mine operations, located 28 km from central Kalgoorlie. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing spatial support across both open pit and underground mining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Survey Support: Liaise with open pit and underground mining teams to ensure timely and effective survey services.
- Compliance: Operate within the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and the Mines Survey – Code of Practice.
- Mine Model Maintenance: Conduct regular as-built surveys and maintain the digital mine model and site services model.
- Design Set-Out: Accurately and promptly set out mine designs including lateral and vertical development, production rings, drill patterns, and pit extents.
- Ore Zone Delineation: Provide precise set-out of ore zones in the open pit.
- Survey Control Networks: Extend, maintain, and rigorously check survey control networks.
- Reporting: Deliver accurate End of Month reports for mining and stockpile areas.
You will also be responsible for the upkeep and drafting of mine and emergency plans, ensuring all documentation is current and compliant. This includes updating layouts and collaborating with relevant departments to maintain accuracy and accessibility.
Additionally, you will provide ad hoc project and exploration survey support as needed. This may involve working closely with geologists and engineers to support new initiatives, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach.
- Aerial Photogrammetry: Collect and deliver aerial photogrammetry data accurately and on time.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure survey equipment is properly calibrated, tested, and maintained.
- Mentorship: Support the development of trainee and graduate surveyors through mentoring and guidance.
About You
You’re a motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic mining environment. You take pride in delivering accurate work, collaborating with others, and contributing to safe and efficient operations.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- A tertiary qualification in Surveying (Mine Surveying preferred), with WA Authorised Mine Surveyor (Grade 1) or the ability to work towards it
- 2+ years of mine surveying experience and a solid understanding of survey principles (entry-level candidates also welcome)
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to health and safety best practices
- Excellent time management, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail
