About the role
As the Underground Senior Shift Supervisor, you are the critical link between planning and execution. Reporting to the Underground Mining Superintendent, you will convert the Short Range Forecast (SRF) into a safe, achievable weekly plan and ensure crews, services and equipment are positioned to execute work effectively.
You will control daily execution, remove bottlenecks, lead safety performance, and ensure operational readiness across all headings, services and production activities. This role requires strong people leadership, proactive decision‑making and the ability to drive safe, efficient and consistent production outcomes
Key Responsibilities:
- Convert the SRF into a practical, shift‑by‑shift weekly operational schedule capturing development, production, paste fill, infrastructure and contractor activities.
- Ensure work fronts are fully prepared with required services, infrastructure and ground support before execution.
- Oversee shift execution to ensure alignment with the weekly plan and adjust resources to maintain progress.
- Conduct underground inspections to verify readiness, standards compliance and safe operating conditions.
- Lead safety across all crews by enforcing procedures, controlling hazards and ensuring ground support and services meet required standards.
- Identify and remove operational bottlenecks impacting production and escalate risks when required.
- Lead, support and mentor Shift Supervisors, fostering strong leadership capability and performance.
- Manage equipment, consumables and services with Maintenance and contractors to maximise equipment availability and readiness.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting on performance, risks and required actions, ensuring data integrity in site systems.
- Participate in daily performance reviews and planning meetings, contributing to collaborative operational improvement.
About you
You are an experienced underground leader who excels at orchestrating safe and efficient execution. You thrive in dynamic environments, communicate clearly, and build strong, high‑performing teams.
- Minimum 7-10 years underground mining experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership/supervisory role
- WA Underground Supervisor’s Certificate and required statutory competencies
- Strong understanding of underground mining operations, including development and production.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, including coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Experience managing contractors, crews and operational resources.
- Strong planning, coordination and decision‑making skills with a proven ability to remove bottlenecks and protect production.
- Proficiency in Pronto, Word and Excel, with sound operational reporting skills.
- C‑Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
