Underground Surveyor

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

Take ownership of the survey function that underpins safe and efficient underground mining. This is an opportunity to join a growing underground operation where your work directly influences mine development, production execution and operational performance. Working within a collaborative technical services team, you'll gain exposure to modern underground mining practices, emerging survey technologies and a long-life asset with significant growth ahead.

Based at our Mungari Operations and reporting to the Senior Surveyor, you’ll:

  • Enable safe and efficient underground mining through accurate and timely survey support to development and production activities.
  • Deliver precise set-out for lateral development, vertical development and production drilling, ensuring mining activities remain aligned to plan.
  • Maintain the integrity of underground survey control networks through regular extensions, audits and rigorous validation.
  • Support operational decision-making through accurate as-built surveys and maintenance of the digital underground mine model.
  • Produce reliable end-of-month survey reporting and reconciliation data that supports business performance.
  • Maintain mine plans, emergency plans and survey records to statutory and operational standards.
  • Utilise modern survey technology, including aerial and remote data capture where required, to improve the quality and efficiency of spatial information.
  • Contribute to the development of trainee and graduate surveyors through coaching, mentoring and technical support.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by working in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act 2020 and Mines Survey Code of Practice.

This role is offered on an 8:6 continuous roster (12-hour days) and can be worked on either a FIFO basis from Perth or residentially in Kalgoorlie.   Relocation support is available to Kalgoorlie from within Australia.

Why Mungari Operations?

Mungari is a cornerstone asset in our portfolio, with a mine life to at least 2038. It’s operationally diverse, with opportunities to work on the surface or underground and a great team of people who care. Our recent expansion of the processing plant has more than doubled processing capacity from 2 million to 4.2 million tonnes per year. With open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

What suits your lifestyle best? We offer residential roles and fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) rosters at Mungari. You choose. Live local in the world-class mining community and enjoy our competitive live-local incentives and allowances. Or choose FIFO and enjoy the camaraderie and benefits that village life offers.

The future here is bright; you could be part of it.
