The Principal Geologist - Mineral Resources & Orebody Knowledge role serves as the technical subject-matter expert in Geology and Orebody Knowledge, supporting the Group Manager Technical Services in maintaining high standards, governance, and opportunity assessments across Evolution’s mining assets..

About the role

The position drives an improved understanding of orebody knowledge and its value in resource estimation, mine design, planning, and process optimization. It provides technical leadership by assisting site personnel in developing Mineral Resource programs, drilling budgets, and geometallurgical studies to enhance operational efficiency and value realization. Additionally, the role ensures strong governance through internal audits, technical reviews, and the development of corporate systems for geoscience data management. It also contributes to business development and transformational technology initiatives while maintaining a strong commitment to health, safety, and Evolution Mining’s core values.

• Enhance orebody knowledge application in resource estimation, mine design, and process optimization.
• Provide technical leadership and support for Mineral Resource development and geometallurgical studies.
• Conduct audits, technical reviews, and establish governance systems for geoscience data management.
• Support business development, due diligence, and implementation of transformational technologies.
• Maintain high health, safety, and security standards while aligning with Evolution Mining’s values.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Geology and/or Metallurgy, along with at least 10 years of relevant experience, ideally within gold operations. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically strong professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment to drive meaningful improvements in deposit characterization, geometallurgical studies, and processing workflows. Your expertise in Mineral Resource development, JORC Code compliance, and technical auditing will be highly valued, as will your ability to develop reconciliation and material tracking systems that enhance operational efficiency. Strong skills in geological modeling, statistical analysis, and resource estimation are essential, and proficiency in industry-standard software and Microsoft applications will help you succeed in this role.
