The purpose of the Indigenous Relations Officer role is to be the primary liaison channel and relationship officer between Evolution Mining and the Traditional Owners and Native Title Claimant Groups.

About the role

The Indigenous Relations Officer role contributes to Evolution Mining’s goals and commitment in providing support to the TLO & Native Title Claimant Groups, through promoting understanding and awareness of cross-cultural issues and cultural heritage commitments at site.

This position will develop and implement appropriate training strategies /programs and ensure the obligations of the Native Title Agreement and Cultural Heritage Management Plan are fulfilled.

You will perform the role of member of the Mt Carlton Coordinating Committee under the Native Title Agreement.

About you

A signed Birriah Approval Form, to determine Birriah apical ancestry, is a requirement upon applying for this opportunity. To be successful in this opportunity it is important that you have/ can demonstrate:        

  • Public presentation skills to actively support and promote community engagement activities supported by Evolution Mining.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills.
  • Ideally hold tertiary qualification within the social sciences realm or communications/administration
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Current Open drivers licence
