Metallurgist

The purpose of the Metallurgist role is to analyse and report plant metallurgical performance, provide technical support to the operations team, and identify and manage plant optimisation projects that will assist in maximising safety, gold production and cost reductions at Evolution Mining’s Mungari Gold Operation.

About our Operation

Our Mungari gold operation is both open pit and underground, located 20km west of Kalgoorlie and 600km east of Perth in Western Australia. Being a residential mine, our employees go home every night, with many living in the local community of Kalgoorlie. Throughout the year there are many cultural and community events to enjoy and for families there are several schools, parks and sporting clubs. About the role

As Mungari goes through an exciting acquisition period, we are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Metallurgist to join the team. Significant opportunities to optimise safety, metallurgical performance and operational planning of the processing plant exist for the right person to execute. As a Metallurgist at Mungari you will benefit from exposure to feasibility level studies, unique Geo-metallurgical test work programs, heap leach test work and future ore test work development.

 

Key Result Areas for this role include:

  • Identify, scope and manage Metallurgical optimisation projects which will enhance the processing plant performance and provide value to the business.
  • Undertake technical analysis of key Metallurgical parameters and communicate findings to the operations team.
  • Provide technical support to the operations team to assist in achieving budgeted gold output.
  • Monitor and analyse consumption of process consumables to ensure these remain in line with budget.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly metallurgical accounting, forecasting and reporting as required.
  • Ensure achievement of budget plant recoveries through agreed metallurgical practices and procedures.
  • Ensure the technical quality and accuracy of the metallurgical accounting is kept to a high standard.

 

About you  

It is important that you have/can demonstrate:          

  • A proactive and collaborative approach to monitoring and optimising mill performance
  • High level of motivation and ability to work unsupervised for extended periods
  • Enthusiasm to excel and deliver high quality work
  • Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Processing or Chemical Engineering
  • Competent user of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Project
  • Demonstrated continuous improvement and project management skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining’s core values.
