Risk & Improvement Superintendent

The Risk & Improvement Superintendent is a newly created position that focuses on applying, implementing, establishing and reviewing the Mungari Operation Safety & Health Management System (SHMS), providing operational risk management advice and services.

  • Drive continuous improvement of the training and assessment system and associated processes
  • Engage and influence stakeholders whilst driving key risk and improvement initiatives

  • Location: Kalgoorlie, WA.

Evolution Mining is a leading, growth-focused globally relevant gold company. We were created in late 2011 and operate five wholly owned mines across Australia and Ontario, Canada.

About the role

The role will support the implementation and maintenance of MGO’s Material Risk Control Program including overseeing the effective operation of the training and assessment system and supporting enterprise risk management system tools. Some of the key result areas in this position include:

  • Monitoring business compliance with all relevant legislation whilst ensuing the MGO Risk Framework is maintained and implemented in accordance with Evolution Business Standards and Policies requirements.
  • Providing professional advice and hands on support to ensure that the risk management system, processes and tools are effectively implemented, understood and complied with.
  • Developing organisational knowledge and leverage workplace specific technology to improve efficiency
  • Striving for continuous improvement in work practices and foster a climate of positive change
  • Providing the guidance and data to support the delivery of budget, Life of Mine Plan (LOMP) and Half Year Forecast

About you

To drive success in this role you will have at least 5 years’ experience working in a similar capacity within a Health Safety Risk & Training related discipline with exposure to mining or resources industry. It is important that you have/ or can demonstrate:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Safety & Health and or Risk commensurate to the role.
  • Certificate IV TAE40110 Training and Assessment (Mandatory) equivalent or higher.
  • Understanding and application of current Health Safety & Training practices and legislation.
  • Experience in leading and developing a team.
  • Ability to understand functionality of enterprise risk and training systems.
  • A high level of strategic thinking, planning and problem-solving ability
  • Well-developed communication and collaboration skills
