About the role
The Emergency Management Advisor plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and preparedness of Northparkes Operations. This position provides expert advice and professional response to emergencies, supports high-risk and nationally recognised training, and ensures compliance with legal and business standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering emergency response training and mentoring emergency response team members and captains.
- Facilitating nationally recognised and high-risk training to meet site operational requirements.
- Providing first response to site injuries, illnesses, and incidents, including after-hours on-call support.
- Maintaining emergency response equipment, stations, and facilities in a state of readiness.
- Supporting the development and review of emergency response documentation and rescue plans.
- Assisting with emergency response exercises and collaborating with external emergency services.
- Supporting access control operations, including fit-for-work testing and drug and alcohol screening.
- Assisting the health team with injury management and return-to-work planning.
About you
To be considered for this role, you must hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue. Ideally, you will also have a Certificate IV in Healthcare, Pre-Hospital Care, or an equivalent qualification. While a Diploma of Paramedical Science is highly regarded, it is not essential. Emergency response capabilities should include firefighting, rescue operations, and advanced first aid. Experience in emergency services, particularly within mining, military, or industrial environments is essential. Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills are key to success in this role. You should be confident in delivering training and maintaining operational readiness across both surface and underground operations. You will also have the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
