What’s the opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Evaluation Metallurgy Team and play a key role in shaping the future performance of the Northparkes operation as an Evaluation Metallurgist.
You'll sit at the intersection of operational metallurgy, technical studies and capital projects, helping identify opportunities to improve plant performance and unlock future value across the operation. Rather than focusing solely on day to day plant support, you'll design and manage metallurgical test work programs, support future growth projects, contribute to forecasting and production planning, and influence how the operation performs months and years into the future.
It's a role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems, challenging the status quo and seeing their work translate into real operational outcomes.
Reporting to the Senior Evaluation Metallurgist, you'll:
- Identifying and evaluating opportunities to improve plant performance
- Designing and managing metallurgical test work programs
- Supporting orebody studies and future processing initiatives
- Providing technical input into sustaining capital and growth projects
- Contributing to forecasting, production planning and optimisation activities
- Working closely with Operations, Geology, Mining, Laboratory and Project teams

Does this sound like you?
- A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or Mineral Processing
- Experience within mineral processing or metallurgical operations
- Knowledge of metallurgical laboratory test work and data analysis
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem solving
Highly regarded:
- Exposure to capital projects and commissioning activities
- Experience with SAP, PI, Citect or Aveva systems
- Gold, copper or broader mining industry experience
- Experience within metallurgical consulting or laboratory environments
