This is a residential role based in the Parkes region, working a consistent 7:7 roster with 12-hour Dayshift only roster giving you the balance to enjoy life outside of work while contributing to a high-performing underground maintenance team. As part of Evolution Mining, you’ll be working hands-on with heavy mobile equipment in a well-supported environment that values safety, quality, and teamwork. About the role

Join our high-performing Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) team at Northparkes, where your leadership and technical expertise will help keep our mining operations running safely and efficiently 24/7. As the LV Leading Hand, you’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining our light vehicle fleet including Toyota Landcruisers & Ford Rangers, to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.

You’ll lead by example, ensuring maintenance activities are completed professionally and in line with OEM standards and site best practices. From inspections and diagnostics to mentoring junior trades and collaborating with planners, your work will directly impact safety, cost, and production outcomes

• Leading maintenance tasks with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
• Conducting inspections and diagnostics using OEM Can Bus technology and service manuals. 
• Collaborating with planners and team leaders to manage scheduled maintenance and updates. 
• Performing quarterly LV and HV inspections to uphold site standards. 
• Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety across all work areas. 
• Supporting continuous improvement and contributing to MEM KPIs including safety, availability, and cost.

About you

• You’re based in Parkes or ready to make the move to join a thriving mining community.
• You hold a Light Vehicle Mechanic Trade qualification (or equivalent)
• You’re a natural mentor, with a collaborative and safety-first mindset.
• You bring hands-on experience in diagnosing and repairing Toyota and Ford light vehicles, with strong skills in electronic diagnostics and Can Bus systems.
• You’re familiar with OEM service manuals and confident in performing both LV and HV inspections to uphold site standards.
• You’re a natural mentor, ready to support junior trades while maintaining a strong focus on safety and teamwork.
• You’re organised, communicative, and committed to delivering high-quality work every time.
• You hold a current Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence.
