This is a permanent role working on a 7/7 dayshift only roster, based in the Parkes region of central west NSW 

 

About the role 

This position is within the Asset Management Department reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Light Vehicle & Ancillary Team Leader. You will work in a supportive team environment in our fully equipped Surface Workshop, performing planned maintenance, conducting breakdown repair, and undertaking planned vehicle inspections. Ensuring work is carried out to best practice standards and maintaining Zero Harm operations.  

  • Ensure the LV & Ancillary MEM fleet maintenance is carried out in a professional and efficient manner following sound workmanship standards focused on quality of repair. 

  • Full use of the site work management system capturing all required work order repair detail, material usage and defect reporting data. 

  • Communication with the LV MEM Team Leader & LV MEM Leading Hand around Planned Maintenance changes as they arise and updating of planned maintenance documentation as required  

  • Perform quarterly LV and HV inspections as required to ensure the standards stipulated for vehicle condition and performance at NPM are upheld 

  • Ensure housekeeping in all responsible work areas and when maintaining the mobile equipment fleet is maintained to the highest standard. 

  • All maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with NPO site safety standards and procedures ensuring zero harm. 

 

About you 

  • Currently reside within the Parkes area or willing to relocate to Parkes/Forbes or surrounding local government area. 

  • Completion of Light Vehicle Mechanic Trade or equivalent with primary experience in Light Vehicle mobile equipment maintenance – Min 5 yrs. experience post trade 

  • Troubleshooting and Technical diagnostics of Toyota Landcruiser, Ford Ranger, Mitsubishi Tritton and Mahindra light vehicles 

  • OEM Service Manual documentation exposure 

  • Electronic diagnosis skill using the latest OEM Can Bus 

  • Strong Mentoring skills for junior trades 

  • Strong organisational and communication skills 

  • Strong commitment to safety as a way of work 

  • Current "C" Class Australian Drivers Licence
