This role operates on a 5/2 4/3 roster - 38 hour week

About the role

 

Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer – SLC, the Mine Planning Engineer is responsible for delivering mine planning, design and scheduling tasks for underground operations at Northparkes. This includes producing Approved for Construction (AFC) designs, managing rolling 3-month plans, and supporting operational alignment across technical and maintenance teams.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Delivering AFC designs for underground mine development using Deswik.CAD
  • Communicating 3-month rolling plans and schedules across key stakeholders
  • Managing underground mining schedules using Deswik.Sched and Deswik.IS
  • Storing and maintaining mine design files and plans (hardcopy, softcopy, CAD)
  • Mentoring and training engineers and graduates
  • Assisting with short-range forecast scheduling and Plan of Intent designs
  • Maintaining health, safety and security standards across the workplace
  • Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining’s values

 

 

About you

 

You will hold a recognized tertiary degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, or Geological/Geotechnical Engineering, along with a manual driver’s licence. It is essential that you have underground hard rock mining experience, with strong skills in short- to medium-term mine planning and design. Experience in sub-level cave mining is desirable. You will be a critical thinker, a strong communicator, and a collaborative team player with proficiency in Deswik.IS and Sched.
