About the role

Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the Senior Mining Engineer will lead the establishment and ongoing management of the E48 Sub-Level Cave. You will play a pivotal role in mine design, scheduling, forecasting, and reporting, while providing technical leadership to junior engineers within the team. This is a rare opportunity to directly influence one of Evolution’s key growth projects and gain exposure to cutting-edge automation and block cave technologies.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering the establishment and scheduling of the E48 Sub-Level Cave
  • Providing accurate engineering analysis, reporting, and forecasting
  • Coordinating short- to medium-term mine planning, drill & blast activities, and tactical scheduling
  • Leading and mentoring junior engineers to build team capability
  • Collaborating across operations and planning teams to meet production and cost efficiency targets
  • Ensuring health, safety, and environment standards are embedded across all activities

 

 

About you

 

The ideal candidate will hold a recognised Mining Engineering degree, along with proven experience in sub-level cave or block cave mining. You should have strong technical skills in mine planning, design software (e.g. Deswik), and scheduling, and bring a track record of delivering operational and planning success in metalliferous mining. You must be a detail-focused, pragmatic professional with the ability to lead and mentor others, while engaging effectively across site teams. You will possess strong problem-solving skills and a drive to exceed targets and be ready to take ownership of one of Evolution’s most exciting underground projects.
