Senior Mining Engineer - Open Pit

Who we are

We’re a bold team with a bright future; and we’re looking for people who want to be part of it.

Evolution Mining is a premier global gold company operating six mines across Australia and Canada. We’re transforming mines and uplifting careers. We took our Cowal Gold Operations underground in just seven years. We’ve extended the mine life of our Ernest Henry Operations to 2040 and doubled its ore reserves. We’re transforming our Red Lake Operations, restoring it as a premier Canadian gold mine. That kind of ambition creates careers, not just jobs.

When we asked our people what they enjoy most about working at Evolution, two things came up across every site: career growth and the quality of the people. Here, you’ll work alongside people who care, who push one another to be better, with leaders who are there to support you.

What’s the opportunity?

This is an opportunity to play a leading role in the next chapter of Northparkes open pit growth strategy and help establish the operation’s next major mining development.

As our Senior Mine Planning Engineer, you'll join the business at an exciting time, helping to design, establish and deliver a new open pit operation from project development through to production. You'll have the opportunity to influence mine design, scheduling, operational readiness and production outcomes while working closely with technical and operational stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient and sustainable mining performance.

Working a family-friendly 5:2/4:3 roster, you'll enjoy a strong lifestyle balance while contributing to a project that will have a significant impact on the future of Northparkes. This is more than a planning role. It’s an opportunity to help establish a new mining operation, influence key business decisions and create a lasting legacy for the future of Northparkes.

Reporting to the Open Pit Mining Superintendent, you'll:

  • Lead mine planning activities that support the safe, efficient and successful delivery of a new open pit operation
  • Play a key role in establishing the planning standards, systems and governance frameworks for a new mining operation
  • Develop and optimise short- and medium-term mine schedules that maximise production outcomes, operational efficiency and project value
  • Identify mining and project risks, develop practical solutions and provide technical input to key operational and strategic decisions
  • Collaborate with contractors, survey, geology, processing and operational teams to achieve safe and successful project outcomes
  • Contribute to technical studies, project evaluations and future growth opportunities across Northparkes’ open pit portfolio
  • Play a key role in the successful transition from project development to operations through effective planning, execution and continuous improvement initiatives

Why Northparkes Operations?

This is your opportunity to be part of a career defining project, build new capabilities and contribute to one of Australia’s most exciting block cave development projects. At Northparkes, you don’t have to choose between a great career and a great lifestyle; you’ll get both. With flexible work options, opportunities to grow and a team that cares, this is where your bright future starts.
