Northparkes is known for its innovative, technical and collaborative people. The site includes block caving, sub-level caving and open pit mining, and was the first in Australia to use the block cave method. About the role
Reporting to the Sustaining Capital Superintendent, the Senior Project Engineer - Mechanical will lead a portfolio of sustaining capital mechanical projects from concept through to commissioning. You will be the mechanical subject matter expert on site, supporting civil, structural, piping and other functions, and driving improvements across infrastructure and systems. This role provides a unique opportunity to apply both your technical expertise and leadership skills to deliver impactful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing mechanical sustaining capital projects end-to-end
- Supporting cross-functional teams in project delivery and commissioning
- Leading stakeholder engagement across technical and operational teams
- Resolving long-standing site issues through innovative engineering solutions
- Owning project budgets and timelines with autonomy and accountability
- Maintaining health, safety and environmental standards across all projects
- Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining’s values
About you
You will hold a recognised Mechanical Engineering degree and a full driver’s licence. You will bring extensive capital project management experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, fixed plant equipment, and infrastructure. Professional body membership and chartered status are highly regarded but not essential. You must be a proactive problem solver, a confident communicator, and a collaborative team player who thrives in an autonomous role and is ready to lead.
