About the role
Reporting to the leading hand laboratory, the Laboratory Technician ensures the timely and accurate processing, analysis, reporting and interpretation of analytical results to achieve plant performance goals, mining grade control/development, ore evaluation and shipping assay exchange for concentrate.
Key responsibilities include:
- Demonstrating competence in analytical and metallurgical laboratory procedures.
- Completing work within agreed time frames and in the priority set by Leading Hand - Laboratory.
- Operating analytical instruments in accordance with GLP and quality procedures, ensuring only calibrated equipment is used and maintenance is up to date.
- Reporting correct data, maintaining data integrity, and raising any issues regarding data collection or recording.
- Committing to maintaining health, safety, and security standards and principles within the workplace and identifying potential risks throughout Evolution.
- Demonstrating behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining values.
About you
Although not essential the ideal candidate will have experience in ore processing plants, mineralogy, or chemical assay laboratories, with a solid understanding of quality and safety. Laboratory auditing and QA/QC experience are highly regarded. You should have skills in inventory management and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key competencies include proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiarity with LIMS (Lab Information Management System).
