About the role
In the vacation student health and safety role, gain hands-on experience supporting a safe and healthy workplace. You will work alongside safety professionals to help drive compliance, risk management and continuous improvement initiatives.
Some of your work may include:
- Assist with safety inspections and audits.
- Support incident reporting and investigation activities.
- Contribute to risk assessments and hazard management.
- Assist with safety training and awareness programs.
- Support health and safety reporting and documentation.
- Work on initiatives that promote a positive safety culture.
Program locations
Northparkes Operations, NSW
One of Australia's most technically advanced mining operations, featuring block cave, sub-level cave and open pit mining.
Roster: 5:2/4:3
Included: Subsidised accommodation, flights at the start and end of the program, plus return travel over the festive period.
Cowal Gold Operations, NSW
A major gold operation near West Wyalong, with open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.

About you
We're looking for motivated students who are curious, hands-on and keen to grow their technical skills. You’ll be:
- Studying work health and safety, occupational health, science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in workplace safety and risk management.
- A strong problem-solver with analytical thinking skills.
- A confident communicator and team player.
- Willing to live and work in a regional mining environment.
