About the Trades Program

At Evolution we’re committed to nurturing the next generation of mining trades people. Evolution Mining’s Red Lake Operation is offering an exciting 12-week Trades Program across a range of different trades. This program is designed to introduce you to a range of skilled trades and explore a rewarding career in the mining industry.

Our Trades Program offers opportunities in:

• Heavy Diesel (HD) Mechanic (Underground)
• Electrician (Surface & Underground)
• Millwright Fixed Plant Maintenance (Surface)
• Millwright Hoist (Surface).

Here’s what you can expect:

• Residential Program: Live locally in Red Lake, Ontario
• Roster: 5 days on and 2 days off (8 hours)
• Structured program: Rotate across each trade covering key processes within the relevant area and safety procedures
• On-the-Job Training: Learn by doing with hands-on experience, guided by our experienced leaders and tradespeople.

This program is your pathway to discovering which trade aligns with your skills and interests and could lead to future apprenticeship or employment opportunities with Evolution Mining.

About you

We’re seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals who are eager to learn, live our values and adapt to new challenges, alongside an ability to work effectively as part of a diverse team. Whether you’re a recent high school graduate or looking to transition into a new career, we welcome applicants from all background. Candidates must be at least 18 years of age on commencement of the program to be considered. 

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Safety conscious team players
• A willingness to learn, use your initiative, show integrity, and thrive within a team working environment
• Completion of at least Year 10, with sound English and Maths grades
• Ability to commit to the full twelve (12) week Trades Program
• Willingness to be residential to the Red Lake region for our residential program
• Ability to communicate effectively and use technology in the workplace
• A current drivers license would be advantageous, but not essential
• Prior trade work experience or pre-apprenticeship completion will be well regarded.
