About the role

The Social Responsibility Advisor role offers an exceptional opportunity within our Red Lake Operations (RLO), taking responsibility for supporting Social Responsibility programs and communications within the geographic area of Red Lake Operations.  This includes neighboring local and First Nations Communities, government, and non-government agencies.  Stakeholder engagement is a large focus of the work, and this position will require a good understanding of current and future plans of the company and an ability to effectively communicate, solicit feedback, and represent the company to relevant stakeholders.

 

The position will be on an 5/2/4/3 (9.5 – hour day) roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

 

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Coordinate communications and engagement activities with stakeholders and Indigenous communities
  • Initiate and manage regular and ongoing contact with stakeholders regarding mining operations
  • Gather feedback to support the mine in providing information and responding to enquiries from the local communities
  • Attend community events as required
  • Travelling to local Indigenous communities, establish and maintain relationships
  • Plan and implement site and community events
  • Oversee Red Lake Operation community contribution program
  • Assist in building and implementing Collaboration Agreements with Indigenous communities
  • Assist in the development of Social Responsibility strategies, procedures, and agreements that are aligned with site and Group framework
  • Support Evolution Recreation Centre operation
  • Adhere to all relevant Evolution policies and procedures
  • Facilitate internal and external communications, including internal memos, newsletters, and social media

 

About you

As the Social Responsibility Advisor, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Social Sciences, CSR management, Environment, Human Resources, Business, or relevant field – or a combination of education, training, and relevant experience. 

 

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:

  • 2-5 years of work experience in Indigenous relations and engagement, stakeholder relations, developing and implementing strategic communications programs and strategy.
  • Valid G Class Driver’s License
  • Community and stakeholder relations experience
  • Indigenous relations experience including implementation of agreements
  • Crisis communications and issues management skills
  • Able to work collaboratively and build networks across business units
  • Track record in building relationships with Indigenous communities and collaborating across stakeholder functions building trusted and transparent relationships
  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with ability to lead
  • Able to drive results personally and through a team in fast-paced environment in a timely and strategic manner
  • Government relations experience is an asset
