About the role

The Coordinator Emergency Response role offers an exceptional opportunity to be directly responsible for the coordination of the Emergency Response Teams, Security Team and programming at Red Lake Operations

The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 – 9.5 hr roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario with NO FIFO eligibility.  We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

 

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Directly supervise a team Emergency Response Officers and Security Guards 
  • Coordination and training of RLO Emergency Response Teams (underground and surface)
  • Development of RLO emergency response procedures, SWI, TARP, and Risk Assessments.
  • Scheduling of ERT training requirements
  • Coordinate site rescue plan development and signoffs (i.e., Confined Space)
  • Coordinate inspections and maintenance of site emergency equipment (i.e. fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, refuge station/chamber, escape man ways, etc.)
  • Ensure diligent record-keeping of all monthly inspections and ERT training
  • Plan and execute mock training drills for RLO site
  • Conduct Drug & Alcohol testing as required for new site workers or post incident requirements
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
  • Assist with security gatehouse duties as required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

About you

As a Coordinator Emergency Response you will have a Diploma from a Secondary School or Certification in a related field of study.

 

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:   

  • A Valid Class G Driver’s License & access to a reliable vehicle
  • Supervisor common core certificate and Certification in Ontario Basic Underground Common Core, Mill Common Core, and “Train the Trainer” would be an asset.
  • 8+ years’ experience in the mining industry
  • 5+ years of emergency response membership and training
  • Familiarity with Occupational Health and Safety Act and mining regulations
  • Solid computer skills with particular proficiency using Microsoft PowerPoint software
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accident investigation process and company policies
  • Capable of designing creative and effective training material
  • Good decision-making capabilities
