About the role
The Electrician role offers an exceptional opportunity to work underground with assisting instrumentation/electrical personnel in troubleshooting and implementing solutions on distributed control systems.
The position will be on an 7/7 roster (12 hour days) and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. FIFO is not available.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
- Maintain electrical prints and documentation
- Assist in the training of apprentices on procedures and safe electrical practices
- Provide suggestions on project improvements
- Partake in training sessions to keep up to date of equipment on site
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
About you
As an Electrician, you will have acquired a valid Journeyman Electrician Interprovincial Red Seal Certificate and be in good standings with Skilled Trades Ontario (if registered in Ontario). A background in instrumentation/automation or a technician/technologist diploma is an asset.
It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
- Certified in Standard First Aid & CPR
- Solid comprehension and ability to read technical drawings
- Well-developed ability to comprehend and interpret electrical and operations manuals
- Comprehension of code books and electrical regulations
- Sound understanding of electrical hazards associated with the position
- Familiar with underground mining environment
- Sound computer skills with proficiency in AutoCAD
