About the role

The Engineer – Reliability & Maintenance role offers the opportunity to provide maintenance and engineering support to the activities within the maintenance department, as well as support small scale capital projects within the group. You will focus on optimising maintenance strategies, minimising downtime, improving asset performance and lowering total cost of ownership through data driven analysis and innovative solutions.

The roster will be 5 days on and 2 days off / 4 days on and 3 days off - 9.5 hour shifts and is a local residential role. 

Your responsibilities will include:

• Analyse and keep current the criticality of equipment by using a risk matrix based on failure consequences and their likelihood
• Analyse the history of equipment failures and apply modelling techniques to characterise failure behaviours over time 
• Organise and facilitate regular workshops for root cause analysis (RCA) problem solving aimed at eliminating failures that impact critical equipment performance
• Organise and facilitate regular workshops to apply reliability centred maintenance (RCM) methods for creating and updating maintenance strategies for critical equipment
• Search for new analytical techniques that lead to improved equipment reliability
• Support planners in developing and updating maintenance strategies, plans, and methods
• Understand the life cycle cost of critical equipment and facilitate improvements to have a positive effect on the total cost of ownership
• Develop and maintain KPIs relating to equipment performance and planning/scheduling effectiveness
• Support equipment redesign to improve reliability
• Support development and adherence to budgets with area superintendents.

About you

As an Engineer – Reliability & Maintenance, you will be a Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or hold a relevant Engineering degree or minimum recognised Engineering Technologist degree.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Experience in maintenance, ideally in heavy industrial or mobile equipment settings
• Experience in any of positions similar to maintenance supervisor, maintenance planner or project engineer
• Strong desire for continuous improvement and experience with or good understanding of reliability improvement methodologies and maintenance management
• Proficient with all Microsoft Office software products
• Competent computer skills with the ability to learn and adapt quickly to new software
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical language, operations manuals and drawings
• Solid understanding of preventative maintenance with mechanical and electrical aptitude
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
• Possesses a strong work ethic.
