About the role

As the Lead hand Long-hole Loader/Blaster, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient loading and blasting of long-hole stopes at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

Key Result Areas in this role include:

  • Work with team members to safely execute mining plans.
  • Report on the quality of drilling.
  • Fill out Centrics data base daily
  • Following up on blast prints
  • Ordering required blasting equipment
  • Self QAQC audits
  • Training for supervisor common core
  • Set up and maintain work headings, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Participate in safety and production meetings.
  • Strive to meet daily, weekly and monthly production targets.
  • Collaborate with other departments to achieve goals.
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.

Perform other duties as assigned. 

 

About you

As the Lead hand Long-hold Loader/Blaster, you will need to have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma and have successfully completed all relevant Common Core training modules. In addition, you must possess or demonstrate the following:

  • Knowledge of long-hole production mining and practical blasting experience is an asset.
  • Previous experience in U0093 Non Mobile Bulk Blasting, U0092 Mobile Bulk Blasting, U0006 Blast Rock, Secondary Blasting, Central Blasting
  • Strong understanding of various mining methods and procedures (longhole, cut and fill, development, etc.)
  • Familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
  • Contributes to overall team success
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
  • Work day and night shifts or as required by the Company
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
  • Strong time-management and prioritization capabilities
  • Well-developed decision-making and problem-solving abilities
  • Sound organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication abilities
  • Capable of visualizing what lies ahead
  • Possesses a strong work ethic  
  • Enthusiastic with a high level of energy
  • Encourages a climate of teamwork and collaboration
  • Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Self-motivated, flexible team player
  • Willing and able to participate in courses and developmental training programs
