About the role
The Logistics Coordinator role offers the opportunity to organize, implement, and analyze systems, using people and processes to manage the storage and transportation of inventory and ensure timely and consistently reliable logistics operations activities. You will be supporting the day-to-day logistics operations activities through the Red Lake Operations (RLO) Warehouse.
The roster will be 5 days on and 2 days off and 4 days and 3 days off. This is a residential role and we offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.
Key result areas will include:
- Responsible for the coordination of all logistic services providers to ensure the safe and efficient transportation of materials in and out of RLO.
- Responsible for ensuring all load/unload and load restraint guidelines are adhered to in the provision of logistics services.
- Ensure effective Contract Management practices are in place for all logistics services providers.
- Develop and maintain a freight strategy to support consolidation of freight services to deliver cost efficient logistics services to RLO.
- Ensure accuracy of orders and shipping documents.
- Processing of Site Access Requests and inputs for all incoming freight carriers.
- Review and approve Freight Bills ensuring that we are using the best mode of inbound or outbound transportation and that RLO are being charged the correct rates.
- Coordinate all tasks in the repairables processes in accordance with the Inventory Management Plan.
- Work with associated end user departments to ensure quality control checks on incoming repair items are managed in a timely manner.
- Monitoring and maintaining of the fuel management system to ensure the system is available for use and effective for monitoring fuel distribution by fleet item.
- Working with Key Stakeholders to ensure tire inventory is reconciled and maintained to an operation ready state.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will have a college diploma in a purchasing-related field or working toward SCMP designation It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse environment
- 2 years’ experience in a leadership role
- Proficiency with Pronto warehouse management software is an asset.
- Solid understanding of industry specific warehouse practices and transportation management
- Comprehensive knowledge of shipping and freight procedures
- Knowledgeable in transportation of dangerous goods
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Background in inventory control
- Excellent organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
- Competent computer skills with proficiency using Excel
- Strong attention to detail
- Displays initiative
