About the role

The Officer Shared Services role offers the opportunity for you to support RLO & NAM Exploration (Vancouver) Finance teams in daily and monthly finance transactions, system/process improvements, and ensure that all suppliers are paid on time and in accordance with Evolution’s business processes.

This is a local residential role replacing an existing vacancy. The roster will be five (5) days on / two (2) days off and four (4) days on and three (3) days off (9.5 hours). 

We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth. The compensation range for this role is $ 57,758 to $75,000 CAD.

Key result areas will include:

• Performs the processing of accounts payable transactions in a timely manner to ensure on-time payment to vendors and employees
• Follows up with RLO representatives to ensure clarity and timeliness in authorizing invoices.
• Assist in the preparation of month end information
• Verifies that accounts payable transactions are done in compliance with all company financial policies, governance rules and procedures to maintain a controlled financial environment
• Liaises with relevant internal groups to reconcile the interfacing of accounts payable transactions to ensure vendors have been paid as expected and that the Finance System provides an accurate record of the companies’ liabilities and that the system balances correctly
• Coordinates the weekly pay run to ensure prompt and accurate processing of all accounts due for payment
• Answers account payable enquiries from both internal and external parties promptly in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
• Works to ensure all accounts payable invoices are properly logged upon receipt in order to maintain an accurate inventory of outstanding items
• Provides accounts payable information to colleagues as requested
• Maintains the accounts payable system (Redmap), including records of payments, vendor and supplier details, and other relevant information to ensure that it is up to date and accurate
• Reconciliation of supplier’s statements with the Aged Trial Balance and follows up any discrepancies in a timely manner
• Files statements and correspondence on a regular basis
• Performs the processing of accounts receivable transactions in a timely manner to ensure on-time payments are received (most specifically but not limited to RLO Hydro Grid)
• Complete weekly cash forecasting to Group office for all Canadian companies & bank accounts
• Perform other duties as assigned.

About you

As the Officer Shared Services, you will have a High School Diploma at minimum. A Certificate III in Business Administration is not essential but desirable for this role.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Previous experience in a related industry
• Experience in using Pronto software or other finance ERP’s
• Experience in using Redmap or automated P2P
• Applies expertise and technology effectively
• Pro-active planning and organising capabilities
• Good interpersonal skills and team player
• Proactive and takes the initiative
• Logical and analytical approach to problem solving
• Accurate and attentive to detail
• Adapts and copes well with change, manages pressure and deadlines effectively.
