About the role
You will be responsible for successfully completing all required training, and acquiring and demonstrating your capability to competently perform all required tasks in a safe manner in order to advance to Miner 1 at Red Lake Operation
Key result areas in this role include:
- Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 3, 4, 5 and 6.
- Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate and obtain required licensing (i.e. utility vehicle).
- Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor.
- Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Comply with all safety procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards.
- Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
As the Operator Charge Up, you will need to have a minimum Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma and have successfully completed all relevant Common Core training modules. It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:
- Ability to demonstrate competence to perform all skills acquired as Miner 3, with aptitude to progress to next level
- Demonstrated ability to drill and blast breast, slash, sub-drift, raise round & drift round
- Must be competent in reading mining prints and shooting lines
- Able to competently perform all skills progressively acquired to the level of Miner 3
- Able to lead in a production heading
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment
- Competent communication abilities
- Contribute to overall success of the team
- Flexible, and willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis
- Hard working and conscientious
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others
- Willing and able to follow instructions
- Self motivated
- Willing to share knowledge and experienced with others
- Able to work effectively alone and in a team environment
- Flexible team player
