About the role

The Operator Jumbo Offsider role offers an exceptional opportunity to join the Development team and be responsible for general all round underground duties at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

This entry level underground mining role will be on a 14 days on / 14 days off roster with day shift and night shift rotations at Balmer Complex and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario. A 7/7 rotation may be considered.

Key result areas in this role include:

• Specific duties may include delivering and picking-up equipment such as tools, explosives, piping and services; delivering and picking-up personnel to development and production areas; removing of waste items from underground workings to waste dumps; providing general assistance to all underground mining areas; and assessing potential hazards and making the necessary changes to rectify them
• Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner and comply with all safety procedures
• Wear all required personal protective equipment
• Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards
• Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
• Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
• Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
• Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
• Perform duties of Operator Offsider and other duties as assigned by your supervision within your qualifications

About you

As the Operator Jumbo Offsider, you will have a Grade 12 Highschool Diploma or GED.

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:   

• Previous underground mine experience
• Basic Underground Hardrock Common Core and RLO sign offs for Kubota, Forklift, Telehandler are considered an asset
• Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment
• Competent communication abilities
• Sound knowledge of underground mining procedures
• Great attitude, hard worker, team player, able to work independently and follow instructions
• Great attendance, great past performance and reliability
