About the role

The Operator Scoop role offers an exceptional opportunity to join the Production team and be responsible for the collection and loading of ore and waste underground at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

 

The position will be on a 14 days on / 14 days off roster with day shift and night shift rotations at Balmer Complex and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.

 

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Specific duties may include conducting pre-start inspection of scoop and work environment; inspecting work area & identifying hazards; scaling and washing down work areas; mucking of production areas; operating manual and remote scoops; and monitoring the control panel of the scoop to identify and correct malfunctions and service requirements, ability to operate haul truck when required
  • Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner and comply with all safety procedures
  • Wear all required personal protective equipment
  • Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards
  • Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor
  • Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free
  • Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements
  • Adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
  • Perform Operator Scoop duties and other duties as assigned by your supervision within your qualifications

 

About you

As the Operator Scoop, you will have a Grade 12 Highschool Diploma or GED.

 

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:   

  • Previous underground mine experience; previous experience operating a scoop (3 yd, 6 yd or 9 yd) is considered an asset
  • Basic Underground Hardrock Common Core and RLO sign offs for 6 yd and/or 9 yd Scoop
  • Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment
  • Competent communication abilities
  • Sound knowledge of underground mining procedures
  • Great attitude, hard worker, team player, able to work independently and follow instructions
  • Great attendance, great past performance and reliability
