About the role
The Operator Services role is an opportunity for you to operate and obtain the required licensing for various mining equipment as well as assist with general services that support underground mining operations. You will be required to successfully complete all required training and acquiring the demonstrated capability to competently perform all required tasks in safe manner.
The roster will be 7 days on and 7 days off, 12 hours and on a rotational basis inclusive of day and night shifts.
Key result areas will include:
- Perform duties with skills acquired as Miner 4, 5 and 6.
- Train and successfully demonstrate ability to operate mining equipment underground (e.g., scissor lift, forklift, boom truck etc.)
- Perform tasks as directed under the direction of supervisor.
- Consistently work in a safe and conscientious manner.
- Comply with all safety procedures.
- Wear all required personal protective equipment.
- Observe experienced workers to gain and increase knowledge of methods, procedures, and performance standards.
- Report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
As the Operator Services, you will have the ability to demonstrate competence to perform all skills acquired as Miner 4, with aptitude to progress to next level.
It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:
- Ability to read and understand mining prints and shoot lines.
- Good physical fitness with the ability to work in an underground environment.
- Competent communication abilities.
- Contribute to overall success of the team.
- Flexible, and willing to work on a rotational shiftwork basis.
- Hard working and conscientious.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work and interact with others.
- Willing and able to follow instructions.
- Self-motivated.
- Willing to share knowledge and experienced with others.
- Able to work effectively alone and in a team environment.
- Flexible team player.
