About the role

The Contracts and Procurement Specialist provides expertise and guidance to EVN stakeholders for the procurement of goods and services and for contract and contractor management activities. The role considers the full procure to pay cycle, supply chain, vendor relationship management, contracts management support and governance and administration that is required to ensure a successful procurement outcome.

 

The position will be on a 5 days on / 2 days off / 4 days on / 3 days off roster and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.  We offer a competitive salary, bonus structure and future growth.

 

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Building relationships and engaging with stakeholders to determine business needs, requirements, changes, risks and expectations to enable fully informed procurement planning, scoping and sourcing decisions.
  • Identifying the different sourcing strategies and be able to develop strategies that reflect the importance and value of items being procured.
  • Preparing category spend data, profiling, and compile sourcing documents for market testing.
  • Leading the end-to-end sourcing activities in accordance with established policies and procedures, including market engagement processes and development of contractual agreements.
  • Participate in negotiations to establish and review supply arrangements and assist in implementation of outcome.
  • Provide timely and accurate commercial advice and support to contract owners and operational departments.
  • Implement and contribute to the development of contract management plans, resolve issues, monitor performance, and negotiate contract variations through effective supplier relationships to enhance business outcomes.

About you

As the Contracts and Procurement Specialist you will have post-secondary education in a related field or CSCMP Designation and equivalent.

 

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:   

  • Ability to work in a professional environment, ideally gained in the resources, construction, or industrial services industries.
  • 3+ years in procurement or contract management.
  • Experience in contract development, including contracting model selection, development, and implementation.
  • Administering commercial relationships in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Excellent negotiation and close out of commercial claims, including variations, extension of time and disputes.
  • Working knowledge of the types of commercial agreements used in the mining and metals sector in Canada.
  • Exposure to various tools with a preference for Open Windows, contract management and procurement software suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
