About the role

The Superintendent Fixed Plant role offers the opportunity to be directly responsible for contributing to, developing and achieving the overall strategy and goals of the mine through the safe execution of maintenance plans, budgets, delivery of service and repairs to equipment throughout the mine site.  You will also provide leadership to the maintenance group under their direct control at Evolution Mining Red Lake Operation.

This role is on a 5 day on/ 2 day off / 4 day on / 3 day off – 9.5 hour shifts, and is a local role eligible for housing support by Taxable Benefit.

 

Key result areas in this role include:

  • Oversee the fixed plant mechanical and electrical teams including Electrical infrastructure (surface and underground), mine hoist operating systems and all surface fixed infrastructure
  • Provide top-level support and advice to the Maintenance Manager
  • Set the direction and establish the mid to long-term operations and project development plans for the mechanical maintenance department
  • Develop and achieve the overall asset management strategy supporting the goals of the mine
  • Participate in the development of a detailed annual maintenance operating and capital budget for all workgroups
  • Participate in the development of an annual Maintenance business plan that documents strategies, goals, targets and action plans for all work groups
  • Provide site-wide management and leadership for the successful implementation of the reliability-focused maintenance management operating system
  • Follow-up on recommendations of the insurance auditor’s report and provide advice concerning value and priority of initiatives
  • Plan long term maintenance and improvement projects
  • Review the quality of detailed timeline projects for major shutdowns and provide feedback

 

About you

As a Superintendent Fixed Plant, you will have a relevant Engineering degree, or minimum of recognized Journeyman trade certificate or diploma.

 

It is also important that you have/ can demonstrate:   

  • Previous demonstrated leadership experience
  • Extensive maintenance experience in maintaining plants, mobile and stationary equipment
  • SAP experience would be an asset
  • Demonstrated development and execution of 3–6-month maintenance plans
  • Ability to analyse maintenance trends and utilize data points to improve equipment reliability
  • Solid Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office Software products
  • Sound understanding of Occupational Health and Safety  Act and regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
  • Outstanding verbal and interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with others
  • Excellent written communication skills with strong spelling and grammar skills
  • Superior organizational, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail and superior analytical skills
  • Works well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Provides clear work objectives and expectations of the performance levels required to achieve business plans and production targets
  • Ensures training is provided in accordance with the current and future needs of the mine
  • Manages performance by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback and coaching to direct reports
  • Prepared to work to company roster with varied working hours as required to accomplish the company’s goals and objectives
  • Possesses a strong work ethic
  • Functions well under pressure and remains focused during challenging situations
  • Action and results-oriented
  • Encourages a climate of teamwork & cooperation
