About the role

The Superintendent Supply Chain role offers the opportunity to lead and govern the Supply Chain operations by efficiently managing goods movement, inventory, shipments, and stakeholder communication. You will be responsible for resolving issues, reducing costs, ensuring compliance, and enhancing performance across Supply Chain activities.  

 

The roster will be 5 days on, 2 days off and 4 days on and 3 days off – 9.5 hour shifts and is a local residential role.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of controls and procedures for high-risk supply chain tasks, ensuring safety standards and mitigating risks in logistics, transportation, handling, and storage
  • Liaise directly with departments to understand their needs and ensure that planning of Supply Chain activities align with operational goals and schedules
  • Analysing Supply Chain performance and logistics data, tracking of key metrics, and providing reports to senior management to drive continuous improvement
  • Identify and implement process improvements to optimise efficiency, cost effectiveness, and sustainability
  • Resolve issues related to transportation and inventory, such as delays and damaged goods
  • Ensuring that all Supply Chain activities comply with legal and environmental regulations, industry standards, and company policies
  • Develop and manage Supply Chain budgets, including tracking of actual costs, and ensure financial constraints are adhered to
  • Oversee warehouse inventory, stock organisation, and restocking to prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Managing the coordination of transportation of goods, including scheduling deliveries, tracking shipments, and ensuring timely arrivals
  • Manage logistic contracts, ensuring compliance with best practices for RLO and contractual requirements
  • Assist in reducing logistic costs, including transportation and warehousing
  • Establish effective processes for monitoring and recording the progress of rush shipments and deliveries, providing regular updates and reports to management and key stakeholders
  • Lead and manage supply chain staff by providing training, guidance and performance management to ensure effective and efficient operations.

About you

As the Superintendent Supply Chain, you will have a relevant diploma or degree, which allows membership admission to a Canadian or International recognised supply chain organisation.

 

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within a supply chain environment, including demonstrated ability to lead improvement efforts in a heavy industry environment
  • Excellent conceptual, quantitative, and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse and interpret information across a range of activities in complex environments
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, consider and manage risks associated with change
  • Strong strategic and commercial acumen, and ability to clearly identify drivers of business value
  • Ability to build constructive relationships and networks at all levels within the business
  • Strong analytical analysis skillset and ability to prepare insight leading to support commercial decision making
  • Experience with PRONTO or equivalent ERP system
  • Strong leadership behaviours
  • Excellent time, management skills and personal interaction capabilities.
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Effectively ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
