About the role

The Supervsior Mill role offers the opportunity to lead and coordinate daily activities within the processing operational department. You will be responsible for safely ensuring the daily operation of the Processing Plant and achievement of production and recovery objectives.

 

The roster will be 7 days on and 7 days off - 12 hour shifts and is a local residential role.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a safe environment, while striving to meet daily, weekly and monthly production targets
  • Deliver operational KPI’s relating to Safety, Productivity and Efficiencies
    • Ensure thoughput and tonnes per operating hour are met as per budget
    • Optimise recovery and circuit reliability
    • Control and track reagent/media consumption
  • Engage in the planned maintenance system
  • Support equipment shutdowns and relevant isolations
  • Lead prestart huddles, safety meetings and collaborate with other departments
  • Operate water supply, flotation and tails
  • Ensure all required checks, operational procedures are followed, and reports are completed in a timely manner to communicate with cross shifts as required
  • Assist in identifying and implementing cost control measures and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Team development through training, coaching and mentoring  
  • Understand and comply with requirements of environmental approvals and relevant environment health and safety legislation
  • Maintain housekeeping and relevant standards.

About you

As a Supervisor Mill, you will have a Grade 12 diploma and/or relevant work experience in a large, automated processing plant or similar role.

 

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

  • Completion of Ontario Processing Common Core
  • Demonstrated progression of responsibilities in processing plant operations
  • Solid background and experience in processing
  • Demonstrated supervisory skills, interpersonal skills, written/verbal communication, time management skills, and a strong work ethic
  • Familiarization with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants
  • Basic computer skills
  • Willingness to participate in courses and developmental training programs.
