About the role
The Vacation Student – Mine Engineering role offers an exceptional opportunity to learn and develop skills related to engineering and planning including but not limited to: mine development design and layouts, stope design and layouts, short term scheduling, ventilation, surveying and rock mechanics activities.
The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 9.5hr shifts schedule and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
The compensation range for this role is $29.00-$32.00 CAD.

- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goals of being accident-free.
- Learn Mine Planning Software – primarily Deswik
- Gain exposure to underground environment and participate in daily tasks with technical and operational personnel
- Actively participate in regular safety inspections and safety meetings
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
About you
As a Vacation Student – Mine Engineering, you will be enrolled in your 3rd or 4th year of Mining Engineering in an accredited University. Prior co-op work experience is an asset, but not required. It is also important that you have / can demonstrate:
- You will be returning to post-secondary in September 2026
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Self-motivated/self-starter
- High work standards and work ethic
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere.
