About the role
The Purpose of the Vacation Student Sustainability role is to learn and provide support for various job functions within in the Sustainability team. Primary role will be with the Environmental Department.
Key result areas in this role include:
- To get exposure working in a mine environment, with environmental, safety and training staff.
- Sample collection in the field.
- Input and update field data into INX and environmental databases.
- Assist in investigations as required.
- Type, photocopy and compile documentation, as required by team members.
- Update forms and ensure easy access by others.
- Upload information to intranet site – CDMS, EROLL and the Portal
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation, and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Comply with federal and provincial acts and regulations, and legal requirements.
- Adhere to all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
About you
As the Vacation Student Sustainability, you will have an Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or any work experience in the specific field will be considered.
You should also be able to demonstrate or have the ability to:
- Use of INX for the department
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient grammatical and spelling skills
- Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills and works well with others
- Strong attention to detail
- Well-developed organizational skills
- Effective time management and prioritization ability
- Works well in a fast paced, dynamic office environment
- Proficient verbal communications skills
- Excellent computer skills and effective skills using Microsoft Office products
- Works effectively alone or in a team atmosphere
- Possesses a strong work ethic
- Encourages a climate of teamwork and cooperation
- Fosters a balanced, positive work environment
