About the role
The Vacation Student – Environmental role offers an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure to the numerous environmental programs and activities at Evolution’s Red Lake Operation in NW Ontario. You will form part of the Environmental Team, whose job is to support the operation to ensure compliance with provincial and federal regulations and to the Evolution Sustainability Performance Standards.
The position will be on a 5/2/4/3 – 9.5hour shifts and will be based residentially in Red Lake, Ontario.
The compensation range for this role is $29.00-$32.00 CAD per hour.
Key result areas in this role include:
- Demonstrate behaviours aligned with the Evolution Mining Values.
- Learn and support activities related to various environmental monitoring programs:
- Surface water and groundwater sampling
- Air emissions monitoring
- Waste management
- Wildlife monitoring
- Assist with communications to other departments regarding environmental initiatives.
- Learn about and support maintenance of water quality database and records.
- Work in a healthy work environment with full support, cooperation and commitment to satisfy our operation’s goal of being accident-free.
- Understand and maintain compliance with all federal and provincial acts, regulations, and legal requirements.
- Review, understand and follow all Evolution Mining policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the Sustainability Team.
About you
As a Vacation Student - Environmental, you will be in your 3rd or 4th year of a College / University program related to Environmental/Sciences. It is also important that you have / can demonstrate:
- You will be returning to full time post-secondary studies in the Fall of 2026
- Valid G Class Ontario Driver’s License
- Valid Boaters License
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Competent computer skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Works productively in a team environment
- Displays initiative and is a self-starter
