About the role 

• In the vacation student surveying role, gain hands-on experience supporting survey activities across the mine site, working alongside experienced surveyors  
• Some of your work may include: 

• Support site surveys using GPS, total stations, and drones.  

• Set out drill patterns, pit boundaries, roads, and infrastructure.  

• Help calculate ore, waste, and stockpile volumes for reporting.  

• Process survey data and update mine maps and plans.  

• Perform monitoring surveys to support site safety and compliance 

Program locations 

Cowal Gold Operations, NSW 

A major gold operation near West Wyalong, offering a residential mining experience within a welcoming regional community. 

Roster: 5:2/4:3 
Included: Subsidised accommodation, flights at the start and end of the program, plus return travel over the festive period. 

About you 

We're looking for motivated students who are curious, hands-on and keen to grow their technical skills. 

You’ll be: 

• Studying surveying, spatial science, geomatics, mining engineering, or a related discipline 

• Have a basic understanding of surveying principles and spatial data collection. 

• A strong problem-solver with analytical thinking skills 

• A confident communicator and team player 

• Willing to live and work in a regional mining environment 

• Hold a valid manual driver's licence
